Report from BNCA Treasurer Joe Miller
- Ending balance as of 2/28/23 = $6,223.10
- Expenses: Website fees
- Receipts: $625.13 in dues and donations
- PO Box renewal and bulletin board repair expenses coming in March
- Motion to approve the report = Rene McCray

Reading and adoption of resolution in honor of Sara Lucas, retired owner of Petals Ribbons and Beyond by Kathy Jacquart (see resolution)

- DDOT working toward a 40% tree canopy goal
- Urban Forestry is part of DDOT because most trees maintained are along streets
- City divided up between foresters, Robert handles Brookland
- Handles trees at public schools and parks and rec properties
- Review all public space permits
- Trees over 100” in circumference are Heritage Trees, which cannot be removed
Some exemptions apply - 311 requests should be used for plantings, removals, and prunings
- Will plant trees on residential property at owner’s request
- Focusing on developing 12th St canopy
- City tree map
- Open tree work orders

- Stated goals were not met
- Many unsafe streets and intersections still concentrated in the more poor areas of the city

- Extended hours at DPR public rec centers
- Summer camp registration open
- Edgewood and Turkey Thicket
- Noyes Park will be monitored in conjunction with DGS
- Howard Divinity School development will continue as previously planned
