- Crime is down across the city although burglaries on 12th street were up.

- Basketball tournament

- Looking for donations, vendor tables
- Catholic University liaison to BNCA – Lilla Kopar, Associate Professor of English & Director of the Center for Medieval and Byzantine Studies
- “Neighborhood Table Talks”
- CUA professor offer lecture on a topic
- Looking to partner with Primrose and area restaurants to host
- Opportunity to build connections with community
- Hoping to do one event per month
- Will have a cover charge of ~$20 per talk to include a drink or dessert
- Community expressed interest in the concepts
- CUA students are looking for jobs (e.g., babysitting, tutoring) and will work to connect students to the community via BNCA
- Organizing Block Parties – Chris Matthews
- Permit application must be submitted 4 weeks before event (https://tops.ddot.dc.gov/DDOTPERMITSYSTEM/DDOTPERMITonline/landing.aspx)
- 51% of households must sign a petition to block the street
- Identify rain date
- Identify a coordinator and get neighbors to help with:
- Food, music, activities
- Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village – Kinyofu Mlimwengu, GBIV Community Organizer and BNCA Member-at-Large
- Front Porch Fridays is a new program started in 2025 by GBIV
- Volunteers agree to host the event and provide refreshments.
- Last event of the summer is Friday, August 1 (https://brooklandvillage.org/)
- The program may be continued in 2026
